Ten Must Have Gift Ideas for Crafters
Most of us crafty peeps tend to buy ourselves lots of pretty paper, adhesives, paints and embellishments to create with but we don’t always buy ourselves good set of tools. Here are Ten of my favorite craft tools I own, and use frequently.
Scor Pal Scoring Board
This is one of those essentials tools to have in your craft room. You may not use it all the time but when you need to use it, it just makes life easier. I’ve used mine from making Multi-Fold Cards, to Home Decor to making treat boxes.
Wood Burning Tool
This is just a fun tool! I originally bought my wood burning tool for my Cub Scout Pack. I had the boys engrave their names in to a wood project we were working on but I recently used my wood burning tool to make Wood Burned Cork Trivets. Yes, I made these and yes, it was totally easy too!
Heidi Swapp Minc- Foil Applicator
Not only is this a unquie machine, it looks really pretty sitting on your craft room shelf! You do need to have laser printer, not an ink jet printer to make your own designs but there are all sorts of cardstock shapes you can purchase, even a toner pen. I recently made a Halloween sign using the Minc.
Silhouette Cameo Die Cutting Machine
Hand down, best machine evah! There are so many things you can create with this machine. I haven’t even begun to use my machine to the fullest capacity since I tend to do mostly paper crafts but ,I have made a variety of projects using my Silhouette Cameo.
Sizzix Big Shot- Manual Cutting/Embossing Machine
The Sizzix Big Shot is another useful tool that you may not use all the time but it’s very handy to have. You can use it with embossing folders. texture plates and metal dies. I love to use it to cut through fabric, burlap and felts. I’ve use this Tattered Flower die to make banners. It’s a great too to haves since it can easily cut through all sorts of mediums.
12″ Paper Trimmer
You just can;t make paper crafts with out a paper trimmer. This is probably the most used item in my craft room, well besides adhesive. You see it in almost all of my tutorial photos too.
Singer Sewing Machine
I’m by no means an expert sewing but I can sew up a pillow. This sewing machine is easy to use so it’s perfect for beginner. Like Me. A few of my favorite things I’ve sewn with this machine are a Christmas Banner and Drop Cloth Pillows.
Banner Punch Board
Or… 1.2.3 Punch Board or Envelope Punch Board or even the Gift Bag Punch Board
Basically, any We R Memory Keepers punch boards are great but this banner one is just plain awesome! I made this Halloween banner in no time.
Sizzix Texture Boutique – Embosser
If you already own a electronic die cutting machine and want to add embossing details to you projects this little cuties is for you. This is one of the first tools I purchased when I started making cards so it’s always been a favorite of mine. I’m all about the small details and texture embossing provides just that. This tool only embosses, paper, it does not cut dies but it’s super handy.
Gold Scissors
Hello, Gold Scissors! Talk about heavy duty and pretty too! Nice quality scissors, a inexpensive stocking stuffer and good photo prop too!
