The Christmas count down has begun and I have an easy Christmas Drop Cloth Banner to share with you. Yes, drop cloth. Like the material you throw on the floor when you paint. I sorta love it. It’s rough, rugged and durable fabric. I used my {mad} sewing skillz and some heat transfer vinyl to whip up this little festive banner in no time.

Since I was loved the Christmas Drop Cloth Pillows I made last Christmas, I wanted to add a Drop Cloth Banner in to my holiday decor too.
I know, a drop cloth really just is a big piece of canvas but I just love the color, the durability and the way the canvas frays. Plus it’s cheap.
To make the pennant banner, I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out a 6″ pennant template , traced it on to the drop cloth and cut it out 3 times.
Next, I cut out another 4 1/2 inch pennant template to trace out the glitter green sheer fabric to use as an overlay.
Then, I stitched the two layers together. I will admit, my sewing skillz are pretty much limited to pinning fabric and running it though that machine as fast as it can go. Therefore, I consider myself a Mad Sewer.
Christmas is all about the sparkle, so I used my Silhouette again to cut out the letters JOY from Iron-on Gold Glitter Heat Transfer and followed the instructions on applying to fabric. This was my first time using Iron-On heat transfer too. Can I say, love it!
After the heat transfer was set, I stitched the pennant banner together using red ribbon and hung it up to enjoy.
I love the way this simple Christmas Drop Cloth Banner turned out. I also highly recommend digging around your garage or heading off to the hardware store to pick up some drop cloths of your own.
