DIY Scrabble Blocks

June 7, 2013 by Holly Gagnon 9 Comments

My brother-in-law likes to play Scrabble and is a complete whiz on Words with Friends.  I don’t even attempt to play him anymore ’cause the game ends in like an embarrassing 250 point spread and only makes me think of other 4 letter words to use.  BLAH!(9)Since it was my BIL birthday recently, I made him personalized DIY Scrabble Blocks spelling out his last name to display in his new office.

I  even googled “Scrabble Letters” to make sure I had the correct point value for each letter…..I told you I wasn’t very good at the game.

Personalized DIY Scrabble Blocks made out of blocks of wood and Silhouette . Great gift idea for any Scrabble lover!

It’s a pretty unique project if I say so myself.  Not sure sure how many other words he’ll be able to make out of his last name but I’m sure he’ll be able to come up with a few.  HOWL(10)
How to make Scrabble BLocks
To make the DIY Scrabble Blocks, I cut a 2 x 4 piece of wood  at 3 1/4 inch each then sanded, stained and used my SilhouetteCAMEO to cut out the vinyl letters.

These DIY Scrabble Wood Blocks were a hit and a really creative gift idea for and Scrabble fan too.

These are F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S, Holly! Not sure how many points you’d get for that, but I think it’s pretty good. LOL!

We are BIG TIME scrabble players. I would love to make some, but don’t have a Silhouette. Boo hoo.
