DIY Rustic Winter Sleigh
I actually picked up this natural wood sleigh up last year during an after Christmas blowout sale at Michael’s. I’m a total sucker for deals and I’ve learned if you find something you like, you should always buy two ’cause if you go back they will be gone! Am I right?
I’m so glad I kept to my “buy two” rule when I found this wood sleigh. I picked up one for myself {to hoard till next year} and another one, that I personalized for my sister.
The decorating possibilities for this wood sleigh and endless but I knew I wanted to keep the wood grain, hence the rustic theme so, I dyed the wood using dark brown Rit Dye.
The wood Monogram on the sleigh is painted with DecoArt Snow White paint and sprinkled with Crystal Glamour Dust to add some sparkle.
The Sleigh runners are painted with DecoArt Glitter Black paint. Ya know since you can’t ever have enough sparkles during the Holidays!
On the top of the Rustic Sleigh, I adhered a silver ribbon bow and silver, red and evergreen Christmas picks. My sister totally loved her DIY Rustic Winter Sleigh that came her way and I’m already looking forward to creating my own monogrammed version of this Winter Sleigh next year.
