How to make a Patriotic Pallet Sign

June 10, 2016 by Holly Gagnon 3 Comments

It’s that time of year to bust out the Red, White and Blue!  I love Patriotic decor, throw in a little rustic charm and I’m in lovin’ it all just like this Patriotic Pallet Sign made from scrap pallet wood, my Silhouette CAMEO and Patriotic Papers from Pebbles Inc.

This Patriotic Pallet Sign is exactly the perfect combination of  rustic red, white and blue to celebrate the 4th of July.   This sign is even easier to make when it’s just embellished with paper.

How to whitewash a pallet sign using a dry brush technique

I make these small and simple pallet signs using two pieces of pallet wood that are adhered together with Gorilla Glue.  Then I use a dry brush technique to  lightly paint some white paint around the wood giving it just a little bit of rustic charm.

After my my wood was dry , I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out a Land that I Love shape using Pebbles Inc.  America the Beautiful patterned papers.  Aren’t these papers so pretty??

I  assembled the layers of the die cut map together using a glue pen and adhered the map on to the pallet with hot glue then wrapped the board with red ans white twine.

I love the way this Patriotic Pallet Sign turned out.  I know adhering paper on to wood isn’t the most typical idea but  it’s a great way for me to reuse my pallet wood signs for other seasonal themes.
