Yarn Wrapped Letter

July 31, 2013 by Holly Gagnon 12 Comments

Have you seen those super cute Pinterest Perfect Yarn Wrapped Letters?  They look simple, make a statement and are inexpensive to make.   Just wrap some cute yarn around a letter, right?   Well, have you ever attempted to wrap a letter with yarn???   Yeah- sorry Pinterest Perfect..it’s not that easy.

Yarn Wrapped Letter

After 3 attempts, I finally got my paper mache Yarn Wrapped Letter E covered.  Yes- 3 times of partially wrapping, unwrapping then only to make up my own style of wrapping ’cause I was determined to get that sucker covered.  Unfortunately, I don’t have photos of wrapping the letter E but basically, stick the end of the yarn on a Glue Dot and start wrapping.  As you can see, I wrapped horizontal then went vertical.    The letter E is just plain hard to wrap.  Ack!

Anyways,  I made this Yarn Wrapped Letter or my niece who recently turned one.  My SIL (not the crafty one), doesn’t do baby toys or TV.  This is her first child.  She’s weird and doesn’t read my blog anyways. Ha!

To complete my yarn wrapped E (and to fill in some gaps), I added buttons from  Button Galore along with Paper flowers.

Here’s the lil’ gals 1st birthday card to go along with the E.  I used my SilhouetteCAMEO to cut out a Love Owl cut file,  Echo Park stickers and an adorbs cork stick pin.   You can also check out the cute owl shadow box I made for her when she was born.

The  SIL loved the Yarn Wrapped Letter E and hopefully it won’t become my niece’s only “baby toy”….teehee.
