Baby Girl Owl Shadow Box

July 10, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 10 Comments

I’d like to thank the girls at Use It Tuesday for having me as a guest designer this week for there embossing challenge.    It’s always fun (and a little nerve racking) to be a guest designer on another blog but embossing has always been one of my favorite medias to design with.   I use to emboss everything I created so I knew I’d have no worries on coming up with something.    I just counted 42 embossing folders and 27 powders in my stash-Yikes!

Baby Girl Owl Shadow Box

I designed this 12×12 Owl Shadow Box for my new little niece, Ella.  Her nursery has an owl theme so when I saw the owl die cut from Cricut Kate’s ABC’s cartridge, I knew it would be perfect for her new nursery.

For accents, I added swirls and bubbles texture embossing along with crystal glitter and some white gel pen doodling.

The Use It Tuesday Challenge blog is about using your hoarded craft supplies, so my stash for this project is the pink striped paper that’s been sitting in my paper file 4-evah and of course I used 2 embossing folders out of my 42 count stash!

Pink Owl
I think it turned out so cute and I look forward to seeing it in her nursery.

Don’t forget to come and join in the challenge fun this week at Use It Tuesday .  They want to see your embossing style- heat, texture, mix it up, whatever- they want to see you link it up!

What a cute shadow box! I’m sure this will look perfect in your niece’s nursery. 🙂 The embossed leaves and letters are a great idea to go with the dimensions in your design. Thanks for being the guest designer over at Use It Tuesday!
