Hello Kitty Duct Tape Journal

July 5, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 18 Comments

You’ve heard Duct Tape is a fix for almost everything, right?
Well, I recently found some cute Hello Kitty Duct Tape at Hobby Lobby and I didn’t know what I would do with it but I knew I could do something with it.  If anything, I could put some tape on the inside of my van door to remind the kiddo’s that the door lock is broken, right?

Anyways, a blog pal wanted me to make something Hello Kitty themed for her daughter’s 19th birthday and I knew then, that I had found a “fix” for my duct tape idea.   Hello Kitty Duct Tape Journal!

So cute-huh?  I adhered the tape to the cover of a composition book, added a ribbon flower on the front and cut Ruth’s name from Cricut Birthday Cakes.
The only thing complicated with using printed Duct Tape is lining up the pattern correctly.  It does take a little patience and unfortunately, a little bit of wasted Duct Tape.   Ack!

I love this idea of using Duct Tape.  I wonder what else I can cover with Duct Tape?

So stinkin adorable! My 4 year old (Holly too!) would be having a fit if she saw this! I love how you casually say, ” I adhered the tape to the cover of a composition book” I have worked with duct tape and it seems to have a mind of it’s own sometimes and you executed it flawlessly! Again, just in love with your stuff!

I just love this – my granddaughter would love this! Did you tape all around the front cover to get that smooth look on the ends? So when you open it up you have the tape on both the outside and inside cover? Thanks!

So cute! Did it take a long time to line up the tape so well?

Too cute! As a Hello Kitty lover, I HAD to click over from Tip Junkie, and I’m so glad I did, I’ve had this duct tape for ages, but haven’t been sure what to do it with it… now I know it doesn’t even look like duct tap when on a flat surface =D
