Argh Matey! Sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun. As I’m writing this post, I’m thinking this Pirate Pallet Art would also be a great Halloween project! Skull and Cross bones are totally Halloween. Just remove the sticker sentiment or change it up a bit and you’ve got yourself a Jolly Roger Halloween decoration. I also wanted to show you how easy it is to use the Offset function with the Silhouette.

This Pirate’s Pallet Art is made with pallet wood {duh!} Echo Park Paper Pirates’s Life kit and a Silhouette cut-file.
I had small pieces of scrap pallet wood laying around so I glued two boards together with Gorilla Glue and gave them a little whitewashing with Decoart paint.
I chose an Echo Park Skull and Crossbones cut file from the Silhouette Store and offset-ed the file with patterned paper. I love to offset cut files. It’s so easy to do and provides the cut file with dimension too.
To offset your cut file, click on the image and then click offset function. You can re-size the offset to what ever you like. I usually re-size my offset to 1 inch.
After I adhered the cut file on to the pallet, I wrapped hemp cord around the bottom and adhered a Pirate’s Life Element Sticker on the front. Like I said, you could total skip a sticker and use a Halloween embellishment.
Love how this Pirate Pallet Art turned out and adding cut files on to wood is another media to consider rather than just using paint. Plus, paper is pretty easy to remove which leaves you with more opportunities to create with your pallet.
