Gallery Walls are always a popular home decor trend. I’ve seen Gallery Walls made up of monograms, old windows and of course family photos. I decided to make a DIY Halloween Gallery Art project of my own that makes quite a colorful and unique Halloween decor statement too.

I don’t do scary Halloween. You will nevah-evah catch me in a Haunted House. Evah! However, my neighbor’s house has like scary baby dolls hanging from their porch. Ack- reminds me of Chucky. My porch is cute Halloween , lots of pumpkins with a few bats thrown in that carries on through to the inside of my house. Purple and green are my favorite colors to decorate with for Halloween and they just happen to be the colors I used to create my own Halloween Art with.
I was in Joann’s the other day and found all sorts of Seasonal wood projects to create with. I picked out these Wood Wall Plaques and thought they would make a great Gallery Wall project using the DecoArt Mixed Media Line.
These are the DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics colors I chose for this project:
Cadmium Orange Hue Fluid Acrylics
Dioxazine Purple Fluid Acrylics
Green Gold Fluid Acrylics
Titanium White Fluid Acrylics
Titanium White Fluid Acrylics
Violet Interference
I painted the wood on each plaque two different colors then painted a third color inside the groves. Since DecoArt Mixed Media Fluid Acrylics contain high quality pigments, they absorb in to the wood very well.
The Dioxazine Purple Fluid Acrylic paint was a little darker than I preferred, so I painted a coat of Violet Interference over it to lighten the purple pigment up a bit and provide a pretty shimmer. Worked great too!
After the paints were dry, I turned the plaques over and hot glued orange, green and black burlap on to the backs. Who knew burlap came in so many fun colors plus you can never , ever go wrong with burlap!
This post was sponsored by DecoArt. All opinions are of my own.
I love the way my Halloween Gallery Wall Art turned out and how it adds a sophisticated Halloween statement in to my home too. It was also a simple project to make using the paints found in the DecoArt Media line.
