DIY Christmas Glitter Candle Holders

November 13, 2015 by Holly Gagnon 2 Comments

Do you ever make gifts  that you like and you don’t really want to give away?  I do this all the time.  I mean, of course I could always make it again for myself but I never do.  You don’t have to spend a lot of money to create unique gifts that are thoughtful and make a beautiful statement.  Most of the supplies needed to create these pretty DIY Christmas Glitter Candle Holders were items I already had stashed away.

Easy DIY Christmas Glitter Candle Holders. Such a pretty and inexpensive gift idea that could be made for any Holiday.

Another thing I like, is when an idea in my head comes to life easily.  It doesn’t happen like that all the time though.   Yes, I do have many craft fails but not this time.  I originally made these Glitter Candles Holders as part of the So You Think You’re Crafty Challenge.   Even though I didn’t win that week, I was able to mark a check on my Christmas gift list this year.   Win, Win!

Frosted Glass Spray Paint turns inexpensive glass in to a pretty candle holder

I purchased glass candle holders in various sizes from the Dollar Store and spray painted them with Frosted Glass Spray.

Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge on to glass candles then sprinkle with glitter. Such a pretty gift idea.

After the paint was dry, I brush a thin layer of Mod Podge around the edge of the glass, sprinkled them with gold glitter then shook off  the excess.

Adhere vinyl on to glass candle holders to make an inexpensive gift.

I used my Silhouette to cut out Holiday Shapes with metallic vinyl to adhere on to the front of the candles.

If you plan on making these Glitter Candle Holders as a gift,  just wrap them up in a cellophane bag, tie a pretty red ribbon around the top and stamp a sentiment on a tag.   I just love the way they turned out.  Which one is your favorite?

This is awesome! I never thought that the double-sided tape would work so well with the jars & glitter. I wish I had known about the clean-up cloth for some previous projects. It would have saved A LOT of time! Also, the flake glitter is so pretty, it looks like sequins. Thanks for the tutorial!

Yes, isn’t double sided tape the best?! And yes, a lint roller is a must in any craft room too. Holly 🙂
