Halloween Trick or Treat Countdown

September 25, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 16 Comments

My daughter loves candy.   She could eat candy all day long.  We should of named her Candy.   Her name is Reese though so it’s pretty close to the name Candy.   Heck, I love candy  too so having a  Halloween Tick or Treat Countdown  in hour house seemed pretty appropriate.

Halloween Trick or Treat Countdown

Now that the Halloween decorations are out and about, the “How many days until Trick or Treating?” question is repeated daily.  My daughter is still little and doesn’t really have a concept of time.   So this Halloween Trick or Treat countdown chalkboard just perfect for her.

To make the countdown, I decoupaged Halloween paper on to a small chalkboard  using Mod Podge then used my Cricut and the Mini Monsters cartridge to cut out the the Trick or Treat die cut and layers.

I used my Cruct again to cut out the words “days till” using white vinyl.

Ghost Table Scatter made spooky cute with googly eyes and Micro Glue Dots

To embellish the chalkboard countdown, I made DIY googly eyed Ghost using table scatter to adhere n the front.

When I saw this ghost table scatter at Target I was like “Oh- wouldn’t they be sooo cute with googly eyes?   So that’s what I just did.   I used  Micro Glue Dots® and tweezers to adhere the googly eyes on to the ghost table scatter.  The google eyes are 1/8 inch and the Micro Glue Dots® are 1/8 inch…Hello….Perfect fit!

I also made the ghost appear to float  by attaching them on to 20 gauge black wire.   I love the way our Halloween Trick or Treat Countdown turned out and so now, my candy loving lil’ Reesie Pieces can let the countdown begin!
