I just hosting a “Sew Cute” Lalaloopsy Party for my daughter’s 7th birthday. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in buttons including DIY Chocolate Buttons Party Favor {AKA- Candy Melts} that we made to pass out at my daughter’s Lalaloopsy Party
DIY Chocolate Button Party Favors
For those of you who may not know of Lalaloopsy, they’re magical dolls that are sewn together from fabrics, yarn and buttons to become “Sew Cute”. They are pretty cute in a crafty way except that a new Lala version {little sis, silly hair and oopsies} seem to come out like every week now.
Since this party was about buttons, I thought Chocolate Buttons would be sew perfect to pass out as party favors.
I actually did purchase button molds to make chocolate buttons but when I poured the candy melts into the bowl, I noticed they were already in a shape of a button. Duh! Seriously, why am I melting candy circles into button shape molds for 6-7 year olds when I need to make like 40 favor bags?
So, I took the easy route, kept my melts “un-melted” and added black dots on to each one using an Americolor Gourmet Writer food pen to quickly turned them into buttons.
The kids thought they looked like buttons, I loved the simplicity of the idea which gave me more time to design a label for the Chocolate Buttons treat bags. I used my Silhouette Software to import a Lalaloopsy Doll clip art, added text then printed the label off on card stock. To make it a little bit Sew Cuter, I punched the edges with a scallop border punch and adhered it on to bags.
The DIY Chocolate Buttons Party Favors turned out “Sew Cute” that I added a few on to the cake too.

January 15, 2016 at 4:01 pmThank you! The label I created on my Silhouette software and printed it off. If you don’t have a Silhouette, you could use any word processing program and just print and cut them out too. Thanks again. Holly 🙂
