Personalized Wood Wedding Blocks

August 23, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 10 Comments

When I made these Personalized Wood Wedding Blocks,  I felt like I was a contestant on Craft Wars. Totally busted out the power tools on this one! We’re heading to my brother-in laws wedding this weekend. This is what I made for the newlyweds.

Give personalized Wedding Blocks as wedding gifts

Personalized Wood Wedding Blocks

My husband owns lots of power tools which, by the way, he doesn’t even use anymore and like he has the nerve to call me a craft hoarder-geez!   So, with some of his tools, I have the courage to use by myself.   Like a jigsaw and hand sander.  Ok..I know, there really not the most complicated power tools out there.

Anyways, I bought some 2×3 & 2×6 pieces of wood, cut them into the block sizes I wanted, sanded them, stained them, distressed them some more, glued them together with E6000 and then adhered vinyl cut from Cricut Birthday Cakes & Art Philosophy.

To finish the project off,  I added some ribbon and flowers that coordinate with there wedding colors.

Ok- so this project wasn’t really that hard to make and definitely not as hard as being on Craft Wars but it was fun and it might inspire me to see what else I can make out my left over pieces of wood.

Very pretty and it wasn’t an arm and leg to buy, and it will be something that will be displayed and put away. Thanks for sharing, God bless

This is a very cute gift! I didn’t quite understand if you had plenty of this for the guests or you gave it as a gift for the newlyweds. My, I want to make one for our side table in the bedroom!-Denise
