Fun Fur Easter Wreath

March 20, 2013 by Holly Gagnon 32 Comments

I love Spring.  The flowers, the butterflies, the great weather but unfortunately for some of you, the allergies.  Blah!  So for those of you who have to fight seasonal allergies,  here’s a  Fun Fur Easter Wreath that looks like Spring blooms are in the air but won’t set you a sneezing.  Ahh Choo…Bless You!
How to make a fun fur wreath for Spring. Wrap Fun Furn Yarn around a wreath form then adhere Easter Eggs and a pretty Spring Bow.

Fun Fur Easter Wreath

Let’s just clarify Fun, Fun Fur  really is  NOT that “Fun” !  I started this brilliant idea of wrapping a LARGE straw wreath with Fun Fur a year ago after I saw Jill’s Fun Butterfly Wreath and fell in love.

The wrapping of my monster wreath took about a year to complete, 6-8 skeins of Citrus Fun Fur  !  Totally  guessing on that amount too since I can’t even remember how many I had to purchased over a year.  So hours and hours of knot untangling skills and my husband even asking if I was ever going to finish that mess.     Well, yes, I finally did just in time to enjoy it for Spring!

Spring Fun Fur Easter Wreath wrapped with Fun Fur yarn.
After my Fun Fur Easter Wreath was finally wrapped, I  decided to adhere Plastic Easter Eggs on to it and ribbon.  With such a grand wreath like this, you’d expect more  than Dollar Store Plastic Eggs but there ain’t no way I was going to muck it up with hot glue!      Fun Fur and hot glue.. are you kidding me?  Nope, not gonna do it.
Attach plastic eggs on to wreath with stick, pins. No hot glue needed!
So, to solve my hot glue dilemma, I used stick pins to get the job done.  Worked great too, the stick pins are long enough to keep the eggs securely in place inside the straw.   Voila! problem solved!  Despite this Fun Fur Easter Wreath being a monster to create, I’m glad it’s complete and loof forward to displaying it for many Spring’s to come.

Oh my Holly, I told everyone you are a tough act to follow and I was right! Fun Fur looked like a pain to wrap, but good for you to keep to it. The straight pin idea… BRILLIANT! How do you come up with that stuff? This wreath is so cute and now I may have to take on this idea since you know I am am a wreath addict. Fun hopping w you my dear crafty friend!
