How to make Sour Cream Containers

June 6, 2016 by Holly Gagnon 15 Comments

Sour Cream Containers are easy to make and perfect little treat idea  for an end of the school year classroom treat or party.    I do love Spring time but I really do look forward to the break of  Summer.  Kiddos out of school, no commitments, lazy days, swimming and lots of plain ole’ fun to be had.

I’ve always thought these lil’ Sour Cream Containers were a fun idea.  I mean the name Sour Cream isn’t the best idea for a party favor box especially in the Summertime heat but that’s exactly what they look like.   Ya know, like the original sour cream containers at Wendy’s.

How to make Sour Cream Containers:

How to make sour cream containers
  • Cut  patterned paper at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.
  • Roll paper into cylinder, adhere ends together.
  • Pinch one end of cylinder together, adhere together.
  • Fill up container with treats
  • Pinch other end of container in opposite direction, adhere together.
Sour Cream Containers with a simple stamped sentiment
To embellish my little Summertime Treats aka Sour Cream Containers, I made a tag out of a 1 1/4″ circle punch and  2″ scallop circle punch,  adhered the circles together using  Glue Dots®, stamped a sentiment on the tag then wrapped them up with  Hemptique rainbow cord.  Seriously,   these  Summertime Treat  Sour Cream containers are almost to cute to open!

Very cute! I don’t get the “sour cream container” reference, maybe Canadian? (I know your milk is in a bag! lol) Either way, adorable & seems ‘easy peasy’ to put together!
