Today, I’m sharing how I made this DIY personalized 40th Wedding Anniversary Gift for my parents over on the Country Chic Cottage blog. Instead of giving my parents a Anniversary plate, plaque or frame I made them a 40th Anniversary keepsake from paper mache numbers.
40th Anniversary Gift
I spray painted the numbers with Krylon Sterling Silver spray paint, personalized them with black vinyl using a Silhouette font and an Echo Park Swirls cut file then embellished them with ribbon, rhinestones and Maya Road stick pins
Of course, when I came up with this Anniversary gift idea, I had to wait over a week to get my #4 since Hobby Lobby tends to carry a limited stock of everything. Two times I went to get my # 4 and they were sold out. I was like… come on, for realz, I need a # 4. Who else needs a # 4? As you can see, I finally got my # 4. Yay!
In case you didn’t know, Ruby is the 40th Wedding Anniversary color. Have you seen Discovery Channel’s newest TV show, Games of Stones yet? Well, the team hits a Ruby jackpot during the first episode. I sorta dig that show. {Yes, pun intended.} And since, I’m not able to go climbing through the mountains of Thailand to buy rare Sunset Rubies, some ruby ribbon will have to do.
