It’s Summa-Summa Time and Summatime means one thing in my house… Road Trip! I don’t mean a week away road trip either, I mean Cross Country Road Trip! If you happen to follow my Instagram feed, @ribbonsandglue, ya know what I’m talking about. Like hit the highway to tackle a 8-10 K mile road trip from coast to coast. Of course, one of the most important things on a Road Trip, besides clean clothes is Snacks. We all love them car snacks, they pass time and a good ol’ snack will always distract a kiddo from the “Are we there yet question?”. A favorite snack of my Fam is Twizzlers. They don’t melt, provide more than one bite and if you’re like my daughter, you can get pretty creative with the Twizzlers Pull N Peel , like pulling them apart to make jewelry out of them. Yes, may be gross playing with your food but I don’t know what’s worse, sticky hands or “I’m bored” on repeat every 5 minutes.
When you open up a bag of Twizzlers and if not careful, the whole bag tends to rip apart. Meaning, Twizzlers all over the car or have the potential to get stale. No one wants to eat stale Twizzlers. Having this issue happen many times, I was inspired to prevent this from happening by creating a DIY Twizzlers Travel Canister perfect to hold any variety of Twizzlers.
To make this travel canister, I upcycled a chip container by covering it with pattered paper found in the Echo Park Paper Off Road kit.
Then embellished the canister with fun Off Road travel stickers.
The canister is the perfect size to fit Twizzlers Twists and Twizzlers Pull N Peel inside and does the job on keeping them fresh too.
I picked up my Strawberry Twizzlers Twist and Twizzlers Rainbow Peel N Pull at Walmart. As you can see by the shelf, I’m not the only one grabbing our favorite Summer road trip treat!
I’ve shared how we’re incorporating Twizzlers into our summer road trip by making a DIY Twizzlers Travel Canister, what great idea do you have for Twizzlers “Twist on your Summer”? Leave me a comment and let me know.
