DIY Back to School Ruler Wreath

July 23, 2015 by Holly Gagnon 65 Comments

I buy things, stash ’em, forget about ’em and then randomly, they’ll  pop back into my brain.  #randomly.  This is exactly how this Back to School  Ruler Wreath  happened and I’m glad to have finally made something out of this chalkboard I’ve had stashed for while now.  BTW, can you believe it’s almost that time again?  Back to School.   Yikes- we’ve  totally been enjoying the lazy days of Summer this year.
DIY Back to School Ruler Wreath. All you need to make this classroom decor is a chalkboard, hot glue, school themed die cuts and rulers. Creative addition to any classroom

DIY Back to School Ruler Wreath

Don’t you just love brand new school supplies?  I mean , love!    There’s just so much crafting potential there, all new and pretty.   How about  cutting perfectly good wood rulers in half  only to hot glue them on to the back of a chalkboard to make a wreath?   My kids were a little appalled  by  this idea when they saw it  happening.  They really shouldn’t  surprise at of my craft ideas anymore.  I mean,  come one kids,  why would you possibly think 14 new rulers were actually for you?

Ruler Wreath

To  embellished the Ruler Wreath,  I layered die cuts from  the Cricut   Locker Talk & Doodlecharms cartridges then added red gingham buttons, glitter and twine on the wreath.

Ruler Wreath

I don’t know about you but I would say “School is Cool “if this Back to School Ruler Wreath was hanging in my classroom.

Holly — looks like I’m # 1 this morning. I adore this wreath and LOVE the rulers. When we get them for CHEAP at back to school sales, this is perfect. It’s really cute! Love your Cricut cuts, too!
