Paper Gingerbread House

December 4, 2011 by Holly Gagnon 34 Comments

It’s become a tradition with my kids to make a Gingerbread House or Tree during the holidays.  When my kids were real little they called it a “KiKi House”.  I’ll be honest, the Gingerbread Tree has been made more than the House.  There seems to be very little patience waiting for the sides of the house to dry before the candy decorating can occur.

So, That’s why I really like this Paper Gingerbread House, it involves my favorite thing, paper crafting and  no icing needed just a hot glue gun and a Cricut die cutting machine of course!

I used a variety of cartridges to decorate this house, 6 in total along with 4 different embossing folders.

Here’s all the Cricut Cartridges I used to create the the  3D Gingerbread House with:

  • Sweet Tooth Boxes– House/Windows
  • Plantin Schoolbook– Scalloped Roof Layers & Ground Snow
  • Paper Doll Dress Up-Window Snow
  • Mini Monsters-Candies
  • Just Because Cards-Gingerbread Man
  • Christmas Cheer-Candy Canes
  • Embossing Folders-Dots, Dominoes, Swirls and Circle Flowers

I assembled the house and decorated it like a real 3D Gingerbread House using different texture embossing folders, ric-rac ribbon, various Stickles and glitters.

One good thing about a 3D Paper Gingerbread House is I actually get to keep all my hard work!
