Coffee Can Halloween Canister

October 29, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 26 Comments

Spots, Circles, Dots-that’s what we want to see you link up this week at Fantabulous Cricut in our “Seeing Spots” challenge. Can you guess what my spotted project is made of?  A coffee can.  I have about 20 empty coffee cans in my stash right now so I decided to make a Coffee Can Halloween Canister for this Spot Challgenge.  Not sure if this stash pile means I’m a craft hoarder or I drink to much coffee?  Ok..Probably both.Halloween Coffee Can

Coffee Can Halloween Canister

I wrapped the can with a piece of Halloween paper and added a strip of  torn paper embossed with the Cuttlebug Spots & Dots folder to cover the paper gap.   Hint -Hint: when your using a 12×12 inch piece of paper to wrap around the can there will still be about a 1 inch gap left so you’ll need to cover it up with something else.

Halloween Cricut
The witch hat is cut from Mini Monsters and I embellished it with some faux hair (hemp rope) Stickles and 20 gauge curled wire.

Halloween Ribbon

I added a ribbon button bow and some more curled wire to the lid which I had also spray painted black.  I think these cans make really great containers to be given as gifts filled with  holiday treats.

I also have to mention that this will also be my last post as a design team member of  FCCB…Sigh.   I’ve enjoyed being part of  team for 6 months now and have been lucky enough to have made some friends along the way.   Thanks to Robin and the other girls at FCCB for having me on there team and good luck to the new members.

So now it’s your turn to link up a Spotted project over at FCCB this week.

It’s a fine line between hoarding and collecting, isn’t it? Speaking as a fellow crafter walking that line 😉 lol! THIS is a project worth saving those things for! I love the hair – that is just too fabulous! Thanks so much for playing with jars at Shopping our Stash 🙂
