For my son’s 7th birthday he wanted a Pokemon theme. I just couldn’t find any Pokemon party supplies in the store that I liked {or was worth spending the money on}. I decided to turn to my Cricut to create my own Pokemon Cupcake Toppers. You also may have noticed that Pokemon characters are complex and some are rather ugly, just sayin’. The things kids like.

Pokemon Cupcake Toppers
I decided to keep mine simple and use the cute lil’, beloved {easy} Pikachu. To make the Pikachu head, I welded a circle and two triangles together on my Cricut Gypsy , then used a hole punch for the red cheeks, black eyes and hand drew the mouth.
The Gate Poke-Balls are red and white circles with another circle cut in half and glued on top. I then glued the Pikachu and Poke-Balls onto toothpicks and stuck them into the cupcakes.
Pikachu Cupcake Topper
I made my son’s cupcake larger and cut a cupcake wrapper from Cricut Life’s a Party cartridge. Yes, his Pikachu topper is a Happy Meal toy….Gasp! My son was thrilled with what his Mama came up with and of course his little friends loved the little Pokemon theme too.

Holly, these are AMAZING!! When my son was younger, we had a HUGE Pokemon party (I made a life-size game board and the kids were the playing pieces) — Most fun they ever had, but these cupcakes would have been an even bigger hit!! 🙂
