The holiday’s are about gift giving, being thankful for the people around you and of course eating yummy food.  Stores this time of year are full of gourmet foods.  Gourmet foods that you typically don’t eat year round so why not give a delicious food that’s perfect all year round?

Gourmet honey from Don Victor® Orange Blossom Comb Honey Globe Jar  not only comes in a pretty jar, it contains real honeycomb and is a perfect gourmet gift for less than $10.

Honey is just the perfect sweetener in my opinion.  I’ve loved honey since I was a kid.  Isn’t honey a home-remedy for hiccups too?  I remember by Dad taking me to store when I was little where you could watch bees make honey behind glass. My favorite memory was being able to sample the different flavors of honey the bees made.  The honeycomb was fascinating too.

I love to make pretty things of paper and creating something special out of something simple is what I do best.  Just like this Honeycomb Paper Lantern Gift Box  which happens to perfectly hold a jar of   Don Victor® Honey  to give as a holiday gift.

To make the  Honeycomb Paper Lantern Gift Box, I used my Silhouette CAMEO  to cut out the box then used  strong adhesive to assemble the pieces together.

Since the box is made out of paper, I made it more sturdy by adhering a piece of cardboard on the bottom of lantern then used stamping ink to distress the edges of the lantern.  The stamping ink really does give the box contrast which makes it look more like an  actual honeycomb.

Since you can’t have a honeycomb with out a bee, I used my Silhouette CAMEO again to cut a bee cut file and embellished the little guy with a white gel pen and googly eye.

On the outside of the honeycomb paper lantern, I added a stamp a sentiment but you could easily hand write a sentiment tag yourself.

As I mentioned before, I’ve always been fascinated by the honeycomb bees make.  You can actually eat the the honeycomb inside a jar of Don Victor® Honey  too.  Don Victor® Honey is raw, filtered honey, not heated or processed.  Just spread it on cheese and crackers and you’ve got yourself a yummy  salty, sweet (nostalgic for me) treat for the holidays.

A holiday gift doesn’t have to be expensive to be thoughtful especially if its giving in a pretty package.  A little bit of honey tends to go long way so this gift idea might just still be giving next year too.
