Wood Grain Gift Bag

November 23, 2011 by Holly Gagnon 15 Comments

Thanks so much to the ladies at The Paper Variety for having me as a guest designer this week for there color challenge!

I just love this color combo and this photo reminds me of something I’d be drooling at in a Pottery Barn store.   My inspiration for this paper project came from the cute little woodsy-blue owl on the Cindy Loo cartridge.
 Wood Grain Gift Bag

Since I was going with the owl theme, I thought this would be the perfect time to use this Core Impressions paper and make this cute little bag that Robin from Robin’s Creative Cottage designed .

Since the paper was already embossed with a wood grain texture, I sanded it a little for a distressed look. I cut the owl at 3 inches and added a few leaves cut from the Potpourri Basket cartridge to bring in the challenge colors.   I tied the bag together with a raffia bow, added a button and stamped a sentiment.

Thanks so much for looking and thanks to The Paper Variety for having me as a Guest Designer!

I just love the attention to detail. Bravo! the fact that your owl is the focus, and to use a ‘tree’ texture for your bag is perfect! Wonderful job! thank you for playing along with us @ OCC
