Get Whale Soon Card

June 1, 2015 by Holly Gagnon 10 Comments

Have you noticed the nautical theme is starting to trend again or maybe it’s just the excitement of Summer?  Probably a lil’ of both.  The Nautical theme of Summer inspired me to use a whale cut file and my Silhouette to make a Get Whale Soon card.

To make this card, I chose to use only the whale from a Whale with Waves Silhouette cut file.  The waves did get my creative juices a rockin’ but I get terribly sea sick so I don’t actually encourage the rocking of anything.

I used Echo Park Dots & Stripes paper as the card mat and adhered it on to the card base by sewing a zig zag stitch.  Love red stitching and Kraft paper {love}!  I then incorporated some School Days and Icing Sugar CANDi’s to tie all my nautical themed colors together.

To complete my Get Well card, I stamped a punny sentiment  ’cause Get Well cards are suppose to cheer someone up and wrapped Hemptique Americana twine around the tail and stuck a Gold  stick pin in for some shine.

I originally had the stick pin stuck behind the whale.  Looked like the poor thing was harpooned.  Axed that idea….don’t need them Whale Wars crazies after me!
