Like most tween boys, my son is a Star Wars lover. A while back, he showed me a picture of a Jedi Star Wars shirt that he wanted me to make for him. I’ve been hesitant to create it just because I know the the layers on the light saber image would be sorta hard to recreate until I realized there was Printable Heat Transfer in this galaxy. Say hello to my Easy Star Wars Shirt made with Printable Heat Transfer!

I do have a room full of heat transfer vinyl and I’m always up for a good creative challenge but I didn’t really want to get that involved in this image. Believe me I do love my Silhouette CAMEO but sometimes when you import an graphic not from the Silhouette Store, the whole tracing, compound path making and cut lines gets the best of me. In other words, defeats me. Now, I know it can be done, I just don’t want to get all up in that. I know, lame.
To make this Printable Heat Transfer Star Wars shirt, I imported a Jedi graphic my son found, used the knife tool to cut out only the blue graphic he wanted then I asked one of my Silhouette Creative Team members, Kathi to help trace the shape out the blue box.
We all agreed that the Silhouette Studio can do this task but she jumped on Photoshop and fixed the image for me in probably like 5 minutes. I know, sorta a sell out but again, I can’t deal with tracing drama. Thank you again Kathi!
I then enlarged the imaged, set my registration marks and printed the image off on Silhouette Printable Heart Transfer for Dark Fabric and sent it to my Silhouette CAMEO.
After image was cut out with my CAMEO, I removed the transfer backing and placed it on the shirt where I wanted. I followed the directions on the package for application and used my iron to adhere the Star Wars image on to the shirt. Yes, it was that easy.

My son loves the way his shirt turned out, I’m happy that I didn’t have to deal with excessive HTV layers so it’s a Win-Win for all!
I even got my son to model the shift for me in front of the awesome Boba Fett Fathead that we just updated his Tween Bedroom with too.

August 23, 2016 at 8:15 amWhat a cute idea! Do you have a saved Word document of the image? I wasn’t able to open the downloadable fonts to get it to work.
Thanks! I know my kids would love a shirt like this!

August 27, 2016 at 8:35 pmThanks for visiting. Yes, I should still have the image saved as a document. Do you own a Silhouette? If so, you just upload the image and set the cut lines. You can email me at ribbonsandglue@gmail.com for the file. Thanks- Holly
