Fall Leaf Banner

November 19, 2011 by Holly Gagnon 36 Comments

Today’s  Cooking with Cricut  Giving Thanks Blog Hop is all about Thanksgiving Decorations.
Fall Leaf Banner made with Cricut
I love Fall decorations.  The warm, rich and cozy colors of the Season really get me in the Fall mood. For this Hop,  I decided to make a Fall banner to hang in my dining room.
I used a variety of Cricut cartridges to make this Fall Leaf Banner banner.
  • The Cornucopia Basket is cut from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up.
  • The fruit and leaves  are cut from Cricut  Preserves, Savory and Doodlecharms.
  • The banner leaves are cut and layered from Gypsy Wanderings.
  • The Fall font is cut from Gypsy Font.
 Cricut Cornicpoia
To make the basket look 3D, I cut it twice. Once using the regular cut then again using the blackout option. I stuff some paper wedges inside the basket and added pop-dots on the fruits for dimension.
 Fall Leaf banner
The banner leaves are cut at 7 inches and the Fall font is cut at 3 inches. I used raffia to tie the banner together and then embellished the letter leaves with buttons.
 Fall Leaf Banner
Thanks for hopping through Ribbons & Glue- Happy Thanksgiving!

I love your banner, especially the leaves under the font. I’ve wanted to try a banner, but I never thought I had a place for one – the china closet is perfect.

Wow Holly, your banner is incredible, love it! The cornucopia is great and thank you for sharing how you made it look more dimensional. And I did not realize that Paper Doll Dress Up had that cut, I will have to look at that! I love the leaves as the background and the papers are great.

Hi! Your banner is super cute! I am trying to make it but having some trouble. I cut the colored leaves 7” by 7” and the patterned leaves 5.7” by 5.7”. The patterned leaf is not fitting center inside the colored leaf. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for visiting Lorrie. I’m not sure why the leaf layers aren’t fitting. You may have to keep cutting them until they fit. Good luck. Holly
