Winter Cardinal Card

January 4, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 26 Comments

I like birds and have always enjoyed bird feeders but unfortunately, the only birds we attract  where I live are called “Sky Rats”…AKA as the Pigeon.  I even have spikes on the roof of my house!
So, a paper Cardinal will have to do for now.    This card makes me think those pretty photos of Winter with a bright red  Cardinal sitting on a bush in the snow.

Christmas Cardinal Card made with Circut

Here’s how I made this Winter Cardinal Card with my Cricut.
50 States Cartridge- Cardinal
Christmas Solutions- Evergreen bush
Paper Doll Dress Up- Snow Border
Embellishments: Red & White twine, wooden button and swirls embossing folder.
Paper-Kraft paper, patterned cardstock , white glitter paper.

Thanks for Looking!

Holly wish you lived by me have a row of pine trees in my back yard and have seen a cardinal back there was so exciting. Mostly blue Jays, Robins and every now and then a humming bird. Love your card the button and the twine are perfect accents and the embossing is perfect.

Like your Cardinal Card. We have lots of Chipping Sparrows & Doves at this time of yr. Did see a couple Cardinals but they do not stay long & are skittish. Put up a new birdfeeder that has 2 compartments to hold suet. Good idea until the squirrels get the suet. Another thing is that the suet fell on the ground & my dog ate it. I will not say how I figured out he atre the suet but I’m sure you can figure it out. Heehee. Have a nice day.

This is so lovely! I adore birds as well, so this card certainly stood out to me. :o) I love the sparkly and embossed backgrounds, the twine is gorgeous, and of course the bird and leaves that just pop. Great idea to use a wooden button on a card about nature. :o) Thank you for playing along with us at Whimsical Wednesday!
