3D Stars Home Decor

January 1, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 15 Comments

Welcome to The Paper Variety challenge and my first project as a member of their new design team!

I actually made two projects for this challenge.  Being my first project as a new design team member I started to over think, wanting to make a really great project but then I got the creativity block and couldn’t create.  So, I looked though some inspiration that I keep and I found these 3D Stars that I’ve been wanting to make for sometime now .  I just love them and I’m going to hang them on my craft room wall.

3D Stars made with Cricut

The first bi-weekly challenge of the New Year at TPV  is a color challenge.

3D Stars with button center made with Cricut

The stars are cut from Cricut George and Basic Shapes at 11″, 9″ and 6 inches.  The stars are scored from point to point then mountain and valley folded to make dimensional.   The edges of the stars are  inked and embellished  the stars with twine,  big buttons and stamped sentiment.
