Sour Cream Container Wedding Favors

February 12, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 25 Comments

Since Spring Weddings are already being planned, I decided to make simple but elegant Wedding Favors out of sour cream containers for the challenge this week at Getting Cricky with K. Andrews .  Too bad there isn’t a better name for these little containers, the word “sour” just doesn’t sound that elegant but that’s what they are thanks to Wendy’s.
Sour Cream Containers Wedding

Wedding Favor Sour Cream Containers

When I got married, 13 years ago, I had the big church, big dress wedding.  If I had to do it again (not that I’m planning on getting married again…LOL),  I’d totally do a shabby chic, barefoot, beach wedding and make these favors!
Here’s how to make Sour Cream Containers:
Strong adhesive
 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card stock (I embossed mine with dots)
Tape 3 sides only
Roll and adhere into cylinder.
Pinch and adhere at each end, opposite directions.

Shabby Chic Wedding FavorsSimple Wedding Favors

For the tag, I cut a 2 inch scalloped circle (Alphalicious cartridge) out of Core Paper  which I sanded and texture embossed.  Have you ever used this color Core paper?  It’s awesome…..looks totally like denim when distressed, right?
I then gave it at Shabby Chic look by adding burlap, raffia ribbon and these cute little Shabby Chic roses that {dollar bin at Michael’s} and stamped  K. Andrew Designs  Fashionable Friends and Winter Wishes sentiments together.

    Hi Holly
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. I am coming to Vegas for a week on Feb 28th, do you need me to bring you a can of Timmys coffee? You don’t have them there yet do you? LOL! Great wedding favors and I must agree, a beach weeding sounds so much better.

HA! I always say the same thing about my wedding then versus what my wedding now would be. 🙂 These favors are adorable – I love how you used the burlap and the denim paired with the rose – so shabby chic! Love it! 🙂

WOW Holly! They look awesome. I love that you didn’t use the paper crimper. I don’t have one so I thought I couldn’t make sour cream containers but you showed me I can. I may use this for the next classroom giveaway.
