Valentine’s Love Blocks

January 11, 2016 by Holly Gagnon 6 Comments

Wood blocks are always fun especially when you can spell something with them.  These DIY Valentine’s Love Blocks are made with Chalky Finish paints and scrapbooking paper from  the Echo Park Paper Lucky in Love kit are a cute and easy Valentine’s Day craft to make.

Valentine’s Love Blocks

I’ve been stashing these natural wood blocks away for a while now and  finally busted them out to make a simple Valentine’s project.  I know I’ve mentioned this before many times but,  I L-O-V-E making Valentine’s projects.  No pun intended…

Paint wood blocks with chalky finish paints to create a distressed look.

To make the Valentine’s Love Blocks, I painted and dry brushed the blocks with  DecoArt Chalky Finish paints

Use Mod Podge to adhere paper on to wood blocks .

then used Mod Podge to adhere squares of patterned paper on to the sides of the block as well as the LOVE die cut.  See, I really do L-O-V-E making Valentine’s projects.

LOVE metal die cut makes the perfect size letters to adhere on to blocks.

Echo Park Paper has a variety of unique Designer Dies that coordinate with their collections.  I used the Lucky in Love Confetti Die  to make this project.

The blocks are embellished with Lucky in Love Element stickers and red glitter glue.  That’s it.   I told you this was a simple Valentine’s project.
