Pet Lover Bookmarks

October 22, 2011 by Holly Gagnon 29 Comments

Hi Everyone!  It’s Holly here from Ribbons and Glue and the Cooking With Cricut  “Adopt a Shelter Pet” Blog Hop! As you know by now, October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month but how can we leave out our other furry friends?   Come join us and celebrate any four legged friend you may have!

If you’ve just come from Jill at Just Lovely Designs, your in the right place!  If you’ve just happened to find my blog and you want to hop along to be eligible for all the AWESOME Blog Candy that’s being offered up, then head to the beginning at Cooking with Cricut.

Now, for my little furry friends project.  I decided to make bookmarks.  I know when I sit down with a good book, (which to me is anything by Nicholas Sparks) my old friend Sammy loves to cuddle right next to me.

Pet Loverbookmarks made with Cricut
The animals are cut from Animal Kingdom using the bookmark icon.  I then used my Gypsy to layer the dogs and cats.  The bookmarks measures at 7 and 1-1/2 inches  The sentiment stamps are from Pink By Design and I’ve just been waiting to have a reason to use that Hot Dog Stamp! My Sammy, is a fat “Hot Diggity Dog”.
Instead of offering Blog Candy to a follower, I’ve decided to donate some crafting supplies to a fellow scrapper who’s helping out a few ladies who lost there crafting supplies.  Here’s a link of Deborah’s blog who’s organizing the donations, Scrapping Mamma  Please check it out if you can because Random Acts of Kindness are the best!

So, now for the really fun part!  Finally, it’s your turn to link a pet-themed project at Cooking With Cricut.  There are some guidelines, so make sure you check out the main CWC blog to read the rules.  You definitely want to play along correctly because there are multiple prize packages being offered.

You can’t leave without seeing a photo of my old friend, Sammy. How cute is she?????

Now head over to Maria Elena’s Happy World to see what she has cooked up!

Here’s all the Blog Hop participates in case you get lost:

your bookmarks came out so cute. Great idea to donate some scrap supplies – I think we all have some things we never use, I will go through mine and see what I can donate.

    Your dog is adorable!

Love Nicholas Sparks! Great bookmarks, Holly. Your Sammy is so sweet — my orange & white tabby cat is my reading companion. Unfortunately, O’Malley believes he needs to be right in the middle of my book, which makes page turning difficult at best!

I love this idea. The bookmarks are super great! Although with 4 yorkies who think they need to pig pile on top of you the minute you sit down, I can’t read a book. Although, if I put the doggy brush beside me, everyone stays away…lol

Oh yeah – nothing better than Nicolas Sparks and a cuddly dog while reading. Love the bookmarks. I’d actually forgotten that feature on the AK cart. Love Sammy, too.

I was thinking these bookmarks would be cute to make and donate to the local animal shelter, they could sell them to make money for the animals there.

Sammy is so precious! :o) As are your bookmarks. :o) I love how there are four different furbabies perched at the top, each with a unique sentiment… I don’t know these could be any cuter. Thank you for sharing the link to the RAK! I am happy to be your newest follower. :o)

    Hugs and blessings!
