Clothespin Wreath

October 4, 2012 by Holly Gagnon 27 Comments

What a great idea Sarah Hammer from Pink Cricut  had to host a  Master Crafter Challenge!  When I Sarah’s post about the challenge, I quickly snapped up the chance to play along with the 100 other crafters to receive a “Mystery Box” in which we’re able to create anything we can dreamed up.  So Fun…plus you can VOTE for who will be the Master Crafter.

I’ll admit though, it took me a few days of pondering on what to make with my Mystery Box goodies.  I would of definitely been voted off Craft Wars.  I challenged myself to utilize everything in the box without adding to many extras.  This is what I came up with….
Whimsical Clothespin Wreath

Clothespin Wreath

I mean a A “Rock Star” Clothespin Wreath!

>Here’s the challenge goodies I received in my Mystery Box…

Craft Mystery Box
I used EVERYTHING in my package and only added a few extra elements.

Clothespin Wreath

To make my clothes pin wreath, I used  Mod Podge to adhere various strips of the challenge paper on to clothes pins, stamped some of the pins with the sentiment (live) that was sent, added a few spiral flowers made out of the challenge paper and sacrificed the cute little baggie up to the Crafting Gods  (sorry little guy) to make a pennant banner which was cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

Clothespin Wreath 2

I adhered the green gemstones and buttons that were sent randomly through out the wreath and re-used the rope from the baggie to tie my pennant banner together and made another spiral flower from it.

Clothespin Wreath Rolled Flowers

The only extra elements added to my wreath that didn’t come inside my Mystery Box were a few additional stamped sentiments, some pearls and a denim flower ’cause all rock stars wear denim.

Thanks Sarah for the Awesome Rock Star challenge!

Holly, Madison and I looked at all the entries really quickly before she left for work. We didn’t have time to comment. But I do know that she loved yours, as do I. We both said that Holly ROCKS!! Madison was so excited that you cut the bag. I will make sure she sends you directions on how to make the flower:)

Wow, I certainly will! When I saw the first picture, I thought it was made out of rolled paper, but clothespins!! I love it! When you get tired of the wreath, you can use them on other projects, already decorated!!

Wow…I want to run out and buy up a bunch of clothespins now. This is marvelous. Great idea and the amount of time you put into it is noteworthy. I think the sacrifice the little muslin bag made, was well worth it in the end. Very clever use of that item from the Secret Box.
