I’m linking this card up to the January I Feel The Love Project hosted by Madison from Funky Cards. Madison is collecting cards to be sent to the family of Victoria Soto who was the brave, young teacher that lost her life protecting her students at Sandy Hook Elementary. She is also collecting Valentines cards for the children that survived in Ms. Soto’s classroom. You can find all the information HERE.Like most of us, this tragedy hit close to home. I have two children the same ages of the ones that lost there lives, I volunteer frequently in my children’s classrooms and I’m close with there teachers. It really makes my heart ache. I was more than happy to help Madison out with her project.
The inspiration for this card came from a shirt that I own which has a stitched flower on the front. I’ve been taking baby steps with my sewing but this flower made me think, Hey- I bet I can do the same thing on paper!
So, I used my sewing machine and limited sewing skills to stitch out the flower and after a few ten tries, I was finally happy with the way it looked.
I adhered the flower to card with some foam squares, added a yellow button and some pretty red crinkle ribbon.
You can more info about the cards Madison is collecting at I Feel The Love Project.
