Shaker Box Card

July 5, 2013 by Holly Gagnon 28 Comments

So happy to be the Guest Designer over at My Craft Spot today! When I’m looking to purchase a set of stamps my rules are:  #1 Will I use it again? & #2 Is it versatile?    Unfortunately, these rules tend to fly outta my craft room window when it comes to everything else I buy.  OK, Who am I kidding ?  I have NO rules when it comes to craft supplies.

But, the Inside & Out, Set #2 stamps from My Craft Spot totally did receive the two rule check mark from me!

Shaker Box Card made with @silhouetteamerica

Shaker Box Card

I love to give handmade birthday cards but giving handmade cards with a lil’ treat makes somebody’s day extra special.

Since the In & Out #2 set has coordinating stamps for the inside and out of a card, (duh-like the name says so) I thought this would be the perfect time to make a Shaker Box Card.

I actually couldn’t find a shaker box cut file in the Silhouette store (say whaaaat??) so I made my own by using a 3D Crayon Box cut file from SnapDragon Snippets and welding a label to make a picture window.

Shaker Box Card with Stamped Sentiment

To make my Shaker Box into a card, I adhered a piece of coordinating cardstock onto the back of the box. Yep-easiest way to make a card out of a die cut shape. Totally Easy Peasy!

I just love this card you made! What a special treat to the lucky one!

It’s so hard to choose, but I’d pick one of the Tiny Tags set…maybe #2.

This is such a great idea for a card! Who wouldn’t love a little something sweet in their card! My favorite stamp set has to be the “Happy Thanksgiving” set. I make so many Thanksgiving cards and don’t have any good stamp sets to help with that. There are several other sets (like MOST of them) that are running a very close second in the favorite department! LOL

I love this card! I love all the stamp sets but it is so hard to find ones for babies…so my favorite would be the Bundle of Joy.

What a great idea. I love this box with all the colorful yummy candy. I didn’t know what the inside out cards were exactly as I never opened them up. I just placed an order on the third and may have to go back for more.

I absolutely love your shaker box card, what a great way to wish someone ‘greetings’ on their special day AND they also get some sweets/candy to munch on afterwards. It took me ages to choose what stamp set I would like to win, if I got the chance and it would have to be MISTLETOE. The writing on it is awesome and the little sayings are all great. Love, love, love it. Hugs, Jen 🙂 x

I’m sure we can all relate to rules going out the window when it comes to crafty goodies that we just NEED! I agree though that I try to buy things that have multiple uses and the Inside and Out meets the criteria! Your shaker card-treat box is so adorable! Anyone would love this!
As for my favorite stamp set right now, that would be Birthday Wishes because I make a lot of birthday cards and am sorely lacking in good sentiments! Already a FB fan of yours and a follower!

This is even better than a regular shaker card. It’s a gift in a box! I really love the papers you used and that bit of twine. I would love the Tiny Tags set #3. Great versatile sayings! Thanks for the chance to win.

Love your take on the card. I have never seen one like this. I love all of your stamp sets and it would be hard to choose one but if I had to it would be between Mistletoe and the Tiny Tags 3 I have the first two and use them all the time.
