This has been a long Summer for us. The kids were out of school longer than usual plus we sorta had a botched move which is a whole other story in it’s self. If you receive my blog emails, you obviously read the story.
Now that the kids are back in school finally, I’ve been focusing on getting our new house organized. We live in a much bigger house this time and of course, more space means more things needed to fill that space. I obviously can’t afford to buy all new things so I am all about making small updates with mega impact. A space we now have is a guest bathroom which would also be considered “The Pretty Bathroom” and I wanted to give it a simple Bathroom Refresher.
Except, when your son’s friend is over and he takes it upon himself to use the guest bathroom. True story. I am in the process of refreshing this bathroom. My new linens and decorative stuff is out on the counter. I was in the process of making the toilet paper pretty plus my studio lights were all set up ready to take these pictures with and my son’s friend decides to use THIS bathroom.
Let’s just say, he was in there way, way longer than any guest should be. Way longer! I know, he technically is a guest but no tween boy is allowed to use that bathroom. Evah!.
I am all about small updates with mega impact and this is exactly how I gave our Guest Bathroom a Refresher. I found this side table in the trash pile on the neighbors curb across the street. Not kidding, we’ve been in the neighborhood for a a few days and I am already picking their garage. #noshame.
Since I was already on the lookout for a small side table, cabinet thing in the guest bathroom anyways and I didn’t really want to buy one I thought I could do something with this hidden treasure. I totally understand why the neighbors thought to toss table to the curb. Can you say UGLY? Like faux, red-ish bamboo ugly but never, ever underestimate what a can of spray paint can do. That’s all it took, a can of white spray paint to give this side table a new life.
My Guest Bathroom Refresher now includes a small table update as well as a few new decorative items and a package of Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® (Mega Rolls) . I like to keep fresh, white washcloths on display in the bathroom as well as a pretty bottle of liquid soap and a scented candle. Freshening up any space is really about the small details.
Since I mentioned I am all about the small details, I decided to jazz up my Quilted Northern® Toilet Paper with a quick belly band made out of scrapbook paper. I know typically toilet paper is stored out of sight but I planned to store the toilet paper inside my new updated side table so the toilet paper actually becomes part of the bathroom decor.
To make the Toilet Paper Belly Band, I cut two pieces of scrapbooking paper at 1 1/2 inches , adhered the ends together then wrapped the strip around a roll of Quilted Northern® and trimmed off the exceeds paper. That’s it.
Since Quilted Northern® is a mega roll with 4 x more sheets, the belly band really makes a pretty, decorative statement in the bathroom plus, Quilted Northern is always in style!
Doesn’t the belly band add such a nice decorative touch to the toiler paper? Small updates really do provide a mega impact!
I hope these simple ideas of how to give your Guest Bathroom Refresher inspires you incorporate small details in to your decorating that make a mega impact.

October 8, 2017 at 4:11 pmLove the idea. I have small guest bathroom that I’m trying to do a makeover. Now do your quest usually unwrap and throw the belly band away or saves for you? I know dumb question.

October 13, 2017 at 10:58 pmHi Sandra, I don’t think I’ve ran in to an issues with my guest even having to get another TP roll..lol. However, since I tend to be the one replacing the roll, I def use the band again. Holly 🙂
