Upcycled Treat Canister

August 4, 2014 by Holly Gagnon 3 Comments

I love to upcycle and I tend to keep hoard many containers in various shapes and sizes in hopes of turning them into fun and unique projects one day.   I may or may not have a box full of just empty containers kept in the garage too.   Ya know, always prepared or a pack-rat, you decide.

This ordinary canister was turned into a whimsical treat container by using the Echo Park Paper Fine and Dandy  kit along with coordinating Designer Flower Dies.

Guesses on what this treat container is made from?  It may just be in your pantry right now or maybe you’re  snacking on them at this minute.  Clue- my fav flav is cheese.

Well, in case you haven’t figured it out by now, yes, I upcycled a Pringles container.  Ta-Duh!

Most containers can easily be upcycled by covering them with pretty patterned paper.  I really like the shape and stability of a Pringles container.  So many ideas to fill it up with.   The more chips you eat, the more cans you can keep.  Hey, that rhymes.

The colorful flowers are cut from Echo Park’s Designer Flower Dies.  The flowers were simple to make by layering the various flowers shapes.  You can see how I made the flowers on the Echo Park Paper Blog.

After I embellished the canister, I adhere coordinating Buttons Galore  buttons on the lid and filled the container up colorful candy.   A cute, simple and inexpensive gift!

I have an empty canister collection, too! I’ve Mod Podged some scrapbooking paper onto a few of them already, but I just LOVE the way you’ve embellished yours! Beautiful!
