Crisscross Card Tutorial

May 11, 2015 by Holly Gagnon 21 Comments

Give Dad a unique Father’s Day card this year by following this easy Crisscross Card Tutorial.  I made the card have an “Old World” feel by using DCWV Industrial Chic  paper,  burlap texture and a Haberdashery Wood Button.

Crisscross Card Tutorial

Typically, cards I make are full of pretty flowers, glitter and cutesy stuff but brown, especially brown wood can be fun to create with too.

How to make a Criss Cross Card

  • Cut a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock in half, lengthwise.
  • Score each piece at 5 1/2 inches.
  •  Over lap the two pieces of card stock.
  • Adhere together with Glue Dots®.
  • Your card will now be 16 1/2 inches long.

  • Using s paper trimmer, trim off the top corner of each end diagonally.

How to add a belly band on to cards

  • To keep your card close, cut a 1 x 12 inch Belly Band to wrap around card.

How to make a crisscross card

  • Measure and trim out patterned paper to embellish your card with.
  • Ink the edges of the paper with  Colorbox ink.

I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out a Father’s Day cut file from Loni Harris  and zig-zag stitched around the inside of the card.

I love the rustic, Old World feel of this Crisscross Father’s Day card.  The  burlap embossing folder  n the belly band provides a unique detail too.  Perfect masculine card for Dad!
