Sharing a tutorial on how to turn those dollar store votives into pretty Vellum Votives that would be perfect to use as decorations for wedding’s, baby showers, garden parties or simple home decor.
DIY Vellum Votives
To decorate the large votive, I stamped two pieces of 4 x 11 inch vellum with decorative stamps.
Using a score board, score the vellum at 1/2 inches and adhered the two end pieces together.
.
I used double sided tape to adhere the vellum around the candle then embellished it with a jute and a decorative charm.
.Another way to decorate a votive is to use a border punch along a strip of vellum.
I added liquid pearls and a ribbon bow around one then made a flower cut out of white vellum using the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge.
Embossing vellum is another way to decorate a votive.
I embossed 4- 2 1/2 inch squares of vellum and adhered them to the sides of the votive using spray adhesive.
I hope this The Paper Variety tutorial on how to make vellum votives inspires you to brighten up your day or nights with simple decor.
