Tomorrow, Jill from Every Day is an Occasion is hosting Craft for a Cause which is a fundraiser event benefiting heart disease in her local community.
You can read all about the cause HERE.
Since I am her blog bestie, she asked expected me to donate a craft item for auction along with some decorations for the event. I decided to make Valentines clothes pin wreath for the auction. I know....Ooh Ahh....Who wouldn't want to bid on this awesome wreath?
BTW- Jill already has plans to on bid on this wreath. She even wrote up a blog post about it hanging over her mantel. So if your attending this event, you'd better bring you're checkbook. There might be a bidding war 'cause I just make awesome wreaths!
.
Since this is a heart cause, I stuck with Valentines colors and used Mod Podge to adhere the paper strips on the clothes pins.
The flowers were made by hand cutting paper spirals, hot gluing them together and adding a rhinestone to the center.
I cut a pennant banner from Cricut Art Philosophy, used Storybook to cut out the font and enhanced the banner with twine, faux stitching and dots embossing.
Jill requested some decorations for the event too, I know she's sooo demanding. I used Spring & Summer Tablescapes to cut out these butterflies. The butterflies are embellished with coordinating paper, faux stitching, red glitter and CANDi embellishments.
The butterflies can be be clipped on to vases, glasses, candles or used in centerpiece decorations.
Here at the 12 various butterflies I made for Jill. I know, how good of a blog buddy am I to donate all these crafts items, right?
I wanted to make sure Jill had a little something to keep for herself just in case she gets outbid on the wreath. I made a candle holder by clipping some clothes pins to a tuna fish can, embellished it with rhinestones and printed off a tag using a Silhouette font.
I wish Jill the best of luck with her event and I wish I was able to be there in person.
