Welcome to Cooking with Cricut Love Song Blog Hop! We've got lots of LOVE floating around and our designers have come up with some great Valentine's Day projects inspired by their favorite love songs.
If you've arrived from Michelle's Craft Creations you're in the right place. If you've just joined in then you can start at the beginning HERE
The only song that kept playing in my head as a love song was the original "Love is in the Air" song by John Paul Young back in 1978. I know, how generic is that? The other cheesy song that ran through my head was "The Love Boat"....Yep, I'm a 70's child and I still dig the music.
I do have LOVE in the air though, look what I made, a Hot Air Balloon....Eeeeek! I'm also offering up some blog candy so keep on reading..
Maybe you've seen a previous posting of mine about a "happy little accident" that I made called The Best Kisses are Chocolate?
Well, this is the top part of the cupcake! Yep, since I cut them both in the wrong size, I turned the bottom part into a candy bowl and the top part into a Hot Air Balloon.
Here's how I made the balloon:
Sweet Tooth Boxes- Top part of the cupcake cut out as large as it would size on my Gypsy. The exact measurement is a mystery, that's why I messed up the whole project!
Ribbons and Rosettes- Scalloped border
Sweet Treats- Basket
Hoot-n-Holler Lite- Owl
Alphalicious- Scalloped Circle and Layer
Sweethearts- Love sentiment
Doodlecharms- Heart and layer
I hand cut 5-wedges (approx 5" long to 4-3" wide) to make the bottom part of the balloon. My original idea was to cut apart the bottom of the cupcake at the separations instead of glueing them together but since my measurements were already off, I just hand cut the wedges on this balloon.
How cute is this stamped sentiment? Its' from K. Andrew Designs- It's Valentines stamp set.
Since this post is long and you stuck with me here's a chance to win some blog candy for your time. I'll post a random winner on Valentine's Day!
Also, We hope you’ll join us at CWC to link up your favorite love song inspired project.
One lucky entry will be chosen by random.org to win a $10.00 gift certificate provided by PaperCraftingWorld.com and one lucky commenter will also receive a $10.00 PaperCraftingWorld.com gift certificate!
Now hop on over to Elizabeth at Broken Treasures to see what she's cooked up!
